Foxconn recently stated that it aims for its automotive brand, Foxtron, to capture 5% of the global electric vehicle market by the end of 2025. The company is rapidly expanding its electric vehicle development and aims to produce 500,000 to 750,000 electric vehicles annually by 2025.
Through a partnership with Yulon Motors, Foxconn launched three electric vehicle prototypes in 2021: the Model E electric luxury sedan, the Model C electric SUV, and the Model T electric bus. These prototypes will all fall under Foxconn's Foxtron Brand.
According to Foxconn, the Model E will have a range of 750 kilometers and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3 seconds, while the Model C will have a range of 700 kilometers and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds.
In addition, Foxconn plans to establish two production facilities: one in Thailand, a joint venture with PTT, Thailand's state-owned oil and gas company, which will develop platforms and produce components for electric vehicles; and a second facility in the United States, serving American manufacturing partners such as Fisker.
While Foxconn's electric vehicle business appears to be progressing rapidly, the exact launch date for Foxtron vehicles remains unclear. However, some media speculate that production may begin as early as this year.
